A sweeping security directive emerged on Wednesday as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared a nationwide security emergency and moved to expand Nigeria’s security manpower in response to escalating threats across the country.
The announcement came through a Statehouse statement confirming that the president has instructed the Nigerian Police Force to recruit 20,000 new officers, raising the total expected intake to 50,000 personnel.
