President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his 58th birthday.

The congratulatory message is contained in a statement issued on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu described Oyebanji as a committed public servant with a strong record of service to Ekiti State, noting his contributions before and after becoming governor.

The President recalled that Oyebanji played key roles in the creation of Ekiti State, serving as Secretary to the Committee on the Creation of the state.

He said the governor later served as Special Adviser and Chief of Staff to the first civilian governor of the state, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo.

Tinubu also noted that Oyebanji served as Commissioner for Integration and Intergovernmental Affairs during the first term of former Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi, and later as Secretary to the State Government.

According to the President, Oyebanji demonstrated dedication and administrative competence in the various public offices he held.

Oyebanji was elected governor of Ekiti State in 2022 and is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2026 governorship election.

Tinubu commended the governor for infrastructural development recorded under his administration, with emphasis on agriculture and aviation.

He congratulated Oyebanji on the completion of the Ekiti Agro Allied International Airport in Ado Ekiti and the commencement of flight operations at the facility.

The President wished the governor long life, good health and continued success in the service of Ekiti State and Nigeria.
