Tinubu Approves Construction of Itawure–Aramoko–Ado, Aramoko–Ijero–Ifaki Roads

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the inclusion of the Itawure–Aramoko–Ado Ekiti and Aramoko–Ijero–Ifaki Ekiti roads in the 2026 Federal Government budget.

A statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Olayinka Oyebode, said a letter to that effect has been forwarded from the Office of the President to the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, with a copy sent to the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji.

According to the statement, the approval followed the recent visit of Governor Oyebanji and the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, where the deplorable condition of federal roads in the state was discussed.

It noted that the approval came amid public concerns and misinformation about the poor state of some federal roads in Ekiti, particularly the Itawure–Aramoko–Ado axis.

The statement recalled that the Tinubu-led administration had earlier awarded contracts for the rehabilitation of three federal roads in the state, while contractors have been mobilised to site. It also stated that the Oyebanji administration has completed the reconstruction of the Ado–Iworoko–Ifaki road, in addition to several other ongoing inter-city and intra-city road projects across the state.

“When completed, the two newly approved roads will ease travel, improve connectivity, boost commercial activities and open up Ekiti to greater economic opportunities, in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Shared Prosperity vision of the Oyebanji administration,” the statement added.

Governor Oyebanji, on behalf of the people of Ekiti State, expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for what he described as a “strategic intervention” in the state’s socioeconomic and infrastructural development, as well as for other forms of support extended to the state.

He assured that his administration remains committed to the welfare and wellbeing of Ekiti citizens and will continue to partner with the Federal Government, private sector players and development agencies to accelerate the state’s growth.
