The Senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, Cyril Fasuyi, has donated 100 solar street lights to Ikole Wards 1 and 2 in Ekiti State, a move aimed at improving security, supporting night-time economic activities and enhancing community safety.

The solar lighting materials, which include galvanized poles and high-capacity solar lamp heads, were received by the Alamo of Ilamo-Ekiti at the palace. The handover ceremony drew excitement from residents, who said the project would make their communities safer and more active at night.

In a statement issued by Team Cyril Media, Senator Fasuyi said the initiative was part of his promise to ensure that grassroots communities benefit from meaningful development. He noted that improved street lighting would help tackle security concerns and encourage more social and economic engagements after dark.

Community members who witnessed the presentation praised Fasuyi for what they described as a timely and impactful intervention. They offered prayers, goodwill messages and words of appreciation, saying the project showed a leader who matches his words with action.

Residents of the two wards said the lights would bring relief to traders, commuters and households who often move around poorly lit areas at night.

Senator Fasuyi has continued to roll out constituency projects across Ekiti North. Supporters say this latest intervention further strengthens his reputation as a leader committed to practical, people-centred development.
