The Ekiti State Government has dismissed claims by the Kayode Ojo Campaign Organisation that over ₦286 billion in federal allocations and ₦70 billion in internally generated revenue (IGR) were mismanaged under Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti, the government described the allegations as false, misleading and lacking evidence.

He said the administration has consistently published audited accounts, quarterly budget implementation reports, and procurement records in line with the Open Government Partnership (OGP).

According to him, this transparency has earned Ekiti top positions in fiscal accountability rankings, including back-to-back recognition by BudgIT as the most transparent state in financial reporting.

The government further stated that projects across the 16 local government areas, such as road construction, school rehabilitation, healthcare facilities and agricultural initiatives, are all being executed through due process and are publicly available on the state’s procurement portal.

It also dismissed as “preposterous and defamatory” the claim that former governors of the state are receiving between ₦50 million and ₦120 million monthly, challenging the Kayode Ojo group to provide proof of the allegation.
