Oyebanji Hails Fayose at 65, Says Ex-Governor’s Role in Ekiti’s Growth Remains Indelible

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has congratulated former Governor Ayodele Fayose on his 65th birthday, describing him as a courageous leader and a key contributor to the development of the state.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, the governor commended Fayose’s remarkable achievements during his two terms in office, noting that Ekiti’s transformation story would be incomplete without acknowledging his role.

Oyebanji said the former governor stands out as a leader who genuinely connects with the people, a respected grassroots mobiliser and a statesman committed to a more prosperous Ekiti and Nigeria.

He highlighted Fayose’s contributions in infrastructure development, urban renewal, economic growth and empowerment of the poor, adding that these efforts have left a lasting imprint on the state.

The governor also praised Fayose for his consistent support for the current administration despite belonging to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), describing it as a demonstration of statesmanship and commitment to the Ekiti project.

He expressed gratitude for the counsel the former governor continues to offer, saying such contributions have enriched governance and fostered peace across political divides.

Oyebanji prayed for long life, sound health and greater fulfilment for the former governor as he celebrates his 65th birthday.

“On behalf of the government and good people of Ekiti State, I celebrate this great and courageous leader, His Excellency, Dr Peter Ayodele Fayose, as he turns 65 years old today. We pray that the Lord will keep him safe, happy and healthy to continue to serve our dear state, country and humanity,” the statement added.
