Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has praised the State House of Assembly for what he described as an exemplary partnership in driving the state’s development agenda.

The Governor hosted the Assembly leadership and members, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, to a special dinner at the Government House, Oke Ayoba, on Sunday night. His wife, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, joined in receiving the lawmakers.

Oyebanji lauded the legislators for working strictly within the law while maintaining a cordial yet independent relationship with the executive arm, calling the synergy a model for other states across Nigeria.

The dinner served as more than a social gathering, with both arms of government engaging in deep, open discussions on legislative affairs, politics, and lighter social matters in a relaxed setting.

According to Oyebanji, the Assembly’s constructive approach and responsible lawmaking have contributed significantly to the progress recorded under his administration.

Assembly Pledges Support for Oyebanji’s Second Term

Speaking on behalf of the lawmakers, Speaker Aribasoye thanked the Governor for creating a platform where critical governance issues could be addressed informally.

He reaffirmed the Assembly’s support for the Governor’s mandate and second-term ambition, citing visible developmental projects and impactful governance across sectors as justification for continuity.

Solidarity chants in Oyebanji’s honour punctuated the evening, with lawmakers pledging to sustain the partnership for the benefit of the people of Ekiti State.

Also in attendance were Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro; Chief of Staff, Mr. Oyeniyi Adebayo; Head of Service, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi; Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Dayo Apata (SAN) and Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Yinka Oyebode.
