…Commissions Road, Electricity, Hospital Projects in Ekiti

Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa, has described his Ekiti State counterpart, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, as a beacon of progress, prudence, and performance in the Southwest region, noting that the ongoing transformation in Ekiti State stands as a clear reflection of visionary and responsible leadership.

Ayedatiwa made the remarks on Thursday while commissioning the Itawure–Okemesi Road, Okemesi Electricity Power Project, and the newly renovated General Hospital, Okemesi, in Ekiti West Local Government Area.

According to him, Governor Oyebanji has, within just three years, brought about unprecedented infrastructural revitalization, economic growth, and social development, anchored on transparency, compassion, and integrity.

“These projects are not just structures of stone and steel; they are symbols of vision, commitment, and humanity. A road that connects opportunities, a hospital that preserves lives, and electricity that brings light — these are enduring legacies of a leader who listens, plans, and delivers,” Ayedatiwa said.

The Ondo Governor commended Oyebanji for his people-focused leadership, describing the Ekiti helmsman as a model of purposeful governance who has continued to raise the standard of public service across the region.

He added that the bond between Ondo and Ekiti States extends beyond geography to shared values, heritage, and a collective aspiration for progress.

“Governor Oyebanji’s strides in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and youth empowerment represent the progressive values for which the Southwest is known. The entire region is proud of his record of excellence,” he said.

In his remarks, Governor Oyebanji expressed appreciation to Governor Ayedatiwa for gracing the occasion, noting that the three commissioned projects would significantly boost economic activities and improve the welfare of the people of Okemesi and adjoining communities.

He revealed that the state government plans to commission 10 major roads as part of activities marking his third anniversary in office, emphasizing that many of his administration’s projects are visible across the state.

“When some people say on social media that we haven’t done anything, I tell them to come home and see for themselves. Many of them are disconnected from their communities and don’t see the progress we are making,” Oyebanji said.

The Commissioner for Works, Mr. Sola Adebayo, described the projects as a demonstration of the governor’s commitment to inclusive development, saying the Itawure–Okemesi Road will boost trade, mobility, and agricultural productivity.

Similarly, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, said the upgraded General Hospital is fully equipped with laboratory facilities, theatres, delivery rooms, and modern wards to enhance healthcare delivery.

Community leaders, including the Owa Ooye of Okemesi, HRM Oba Gbadebo Adedeji, and the President of Okemesi Improvement Union, Nath Olaoye, lauded the governor for transforming the town with projects that have improved living standards.

Present at the event were Deputy Governor Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye, Speaker of the Ekiti House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, SSG Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, Head of Service Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi, Chief of Staff Mr. Oyeniyi Adebayo, members of the State Executive Council, lawmakers, and traditional rulers.
