Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA Donates Mowers to Secondary Schools

By Ojo Ayodeji
The Executive Chairman of Okemesi/Ido-Ile Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ajibade Sunday Owolabi, has distributed mowing machines to all secondary schools within the council.
Presenting the equipment to school representatives on Monday in Okemesi-Ekiti, Hon Ajibade said the initiative will help students dedicate more of their time to academics instead of using it to cut grasses in their schools.
According to him, many students are too young to handle such labour, adding that schools now have the necessary tools to maintain clean environments.
The Chairman urged the schools to make judicious use of the machines and ensure that their premises remain neat and tidy at all times.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Vice Principal of Okemesi Grammar School expressed appreciation to the Chairman and his team. He noted that the mowers would go a long way in improving sanitation in schools.
He also advised parents not to rush their children through education, while assuring that the schools would put the machines to proper use.
Dignitaries at the event included the Secretary to the LCDA, Hon. Sesan Jayeola; Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Agbaje S. A; Director of Administration, Mr. Olaiya A. Z; Director of Finance, Mrs. Faromo Olayinka, as well as other directors and staff of the council.
