Obazee Takes Charge as New Customs Area Controller for Ondo/Ekiti -

The Nigeria Customs Service has recorded another leadership change as Comptroller Queen Obazee assumed duty on Tuesday as the 28th Area Controller of Ondo/Ekiti Command, vowing to reposition the Command with reforms that prioritise revenue integrity, trade facilitation, and a tougher anti-smuggling drive.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Customs Aondoakura Dzungwenen, confirmed her resumption in a statement issued in Akure and shared via the Service’s official X handle.

During the handover ceremony, Obazee unveiled her four-point agenda focused on revenue assurance, supply-chain protection, anti-smuggling supremacy, and trade facilitation excellence, stressing that her leadership would entrench professionalism and intelligence-led operations.

“We will institutionalise a zero-leakage culture, enforce discipline, and ensure intelligence-led operations,” she declared.

She added that her leadership would prioritise building a more enabling trade environment for compliant stakeholders, rewarding discipline while penalising infractions.

“We will deepen industry outreach, reward compliance, and ensure that our operations are impactful, professional, and constantly reviewed for improvement,” Obazee said.

Welcoming her on behalf of officers and men of the Command, Assistant Comptroller Moses Uchegbu, Acting Deputy Comptroller of Administration, assured her of their full cooperation.

“With your assumption of duty, we are committed to sustaining the momentum already built and working tirelessly to meet expectations,” Uchegbu affirmed.
