Kwara Governor Hails Tinubu as 38 Eruku Abductees Regain Freedom

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as a hands-on and decisive intervention that led to the rescue of 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.
The victims, who were taken during an attack on Christ Apostolic Church, Eruku, were freed on Sunday after days of coordinated operations by security agencies.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, the Governor said the breakthrough was made possible through the President’s direct involvement in managing the security situation.
He noted that President Tinubu had cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to focus on the breaches in Kwara and Kebbi States, adding that the President also ordered increased security deployments to the affected communities.
AbdulRazaq expressed appreciation to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Intelligence Agency, and the Nigeria Police Force, which recently deployed four tactical squads to Kwara on the President’s directive.
The Governor also thanked security operatives, community leaders, religious institutions and residents of the state for their support and patience throughout the incident.
