Kemi Badenoch Unveils “Radical Borders Plan” to Deport 150,000 Illegal Migrants Annually

UK Conservative leader, Kemi Badenoch has unveiled a sweeping Radical Borders Plan to detain and deport 150,000 illegal migrants annually, vowing to repeal the Human Rights Act and withdraw Britain from the European Convention on Human Rights.

In a video message posted on her official X account on Sunday, Badenoch unveiled the Radical Borders Plan, a new border enforcement strategy that includes the creation of a dedicated Removals Force, modelled after the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“My message is clear: if you’re here illegally, you will be detained and deported,” Badenoch declared.

Positioning herself as a hardliner on immigration, the Conservative leader accused both the ruling and previous Labour governments of failing to control illegal migration. She said Labour had presided over record numbers of small-boat crossings while wasting public funds on asylum accommodations.

“Today, I’m launching our Radical Borders Plan, the toughest reforms Britain has ever seen. Successive governments have failed on immigration. Labour promised to smash the gangs, yet delivered record small boat crossings, over 50,000 illegal arrivals, and billions wasted on asylum hotels,” she said.

Under the proposed reforms, asylum claims from illegal entrants will be banned, the Human Rights Act repealed, and the United Kingdom will withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).

Badenoch said all illegal arrivals would be deported within seven days, with legal restrictions on mass deportations removed. The plan also proposes visa sanctions against countries that refuse to repatriate their citizens.

She added that the new enforcement agency would “shut down the asylum hotel racket,” save taxpayers billions, and restore public confidence in Britain’s border control system.

“Only the Conservatives have a serious, credible plan to deliver stronger borders. If you come here illegally, you will be deported,” Badenoch concluded.
