Gov. Oyebanji Commissions Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA New Secretariat Complex

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has commissioned the newly constructed Okemesi/Ido-Ile Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Secretariat Complex, describing it as a symbol of progress and effective governance at the grassroots.

The ultra-modern complex, built and delivered by the Council Chairman, Hon. Ajibade Sunday Owolabi, is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and improve service delivery within the LCDA.

Governor Oyebanji, represented by his deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, said the project demonstrated the council chairman’s commitment to inclusive development and responsive leadership.

The Governor stated that he had earlier commissioned the 13.27-kilometre Itawure–Okemesi Road,General Hospital and electrification projects in Okemesi-Ekiti,reaffirming his government’s resolve to continue executing people-oriented projects across the state.

The governor commended Hon. Ajibade for his visionary leadership and for creating a conducive environment for governance, describing the secretariat as a landmark achievement that would stand the test of time.

In his address, Hon. Ajibade applauded Governor Oyebanji for his unflinching support to local councils and for prioritising the welfare of Ekiti people.

He noted that the new secretariat would strengthen administrative operations, as council workers now have a modern workspace that encourages productivity and innovation.

According to him, the complex comprises 28 offices, equipped with toilet facilities, fans, 24-hour solar power supply and a borehole to provide constant water supply.

Ajibade expressed appreciation to the governor for granting autonomy to local councils, saying the gesture has empowered chairmen to deliver on their campaign promises and bring governance closer to the people.
