FULL LIST: NUC Accredits 34 Courses for New Ekiti Federal University

By Alofe Ayomoses
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation for 34 academic programmes across four faculties at the newly established Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences (FUTES), Iyin Ekiti.
FUTES Registrar, Mr. Oluwole Dada, who announced the development in a statement on Thursday, said the approval paves the way for the official commencement of academic activities for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to him, the accreditation followed a week-long verification exercise by four NUC teams, who inspected the university’s laboratories, lecture halls, classrooms, hostels, offices, library, clinic, toilets, staff buses, and modern teaching equipment, including Hitachi boards.
‘A Milestone for 21st-Century Education’
FUTES Vice Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, hailed the accreditation as a “milestone that affirms the university’s readiness to provide 21st-century education.”
He encouraged prospective students to change their preferred institution to FUTES on the JAMB portal, stressing that admissions would be strictly merit-based.
“We are here for academic excellence, and that is the standard we want to set from the onset. Students who excel in JAMB, WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB will be admitted purely on merit, without fear or favour,” Aribisala said.
He also advised applicants to rely only on official information via the institution’s website (www.futes.edu.ng) or the Registrar’s office.
