Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, a former member of the House of Representatives has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his remarkable developmental achievements across the country, describing them as proof of his commitment to good governance and his affection for Ekiti State.
Speaking during an interview on Fresh FM in Ado-Ekiti, Ojo highlighted some of President Tinubu’s key initiatives, including the removal of fuel subsidy, establishment of cancer treatment centres across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, financial autonomy for local governments, introduction of interest-free loan support for students, and renewed investments in regional development, agriculture, and road infrastructure.
He specifically mentioned ongoing federal road projects such as the Ikere–Akure Road and other major routes linking Ekiti with neighbouring states, saying they would greatly enhance economic activities and improve regional connectivity.
On the Igede–Itawure road project, the former lawmaker assured that President Tinubu is already aware of the situation and would take prompt action to address it.
Tinubu’s Love for Ekiti, Oyebanji’s Leadership Attracting Opportunities
Ojo attributed the rising wave of federal appointments and developmental projects in Ekiti to the combined effect of President Tinubu’s goodwill towards the state and the strategic engagement of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO).
“No governor has been able to attract so many federal appointments and projects to Ekiti like Governor Oyebanji,” Ojo stated. “It is a reflection of President Tinubu’s affection for our people and the respect he has for the governor’s leadership.”
He further praised Ekiti indigenes currently serving in federal positions for their dedication and performance, noting that they have been working tirelessly to support the party’s vision and advance the progress of the state.
Oyebanji’s Inclusive Governance Earns Praise
The former lawmaker emphasised that what sets Governor Oyebanji apart from his predecessors is his deep understanding of Ekiti’s history and his inclusive leadership style.
“Governor Oyebanji was part of the struggle for the creation of Ekiti State. He’s a true son of the soil who understands our challenges,” Ojo said. “That’s why he doesn’t discriminate, he is not just the governor of the APC, but the governor of Ekiti people.”
Ojo’s remarks, which echo growing public opinion in the state, reinforce the increasing calls from across political lines for Governor Oyebanji to continue his developmental agenda beyond 2026.
Many political observers believe that Oyebanji’s leadership is defined by humility, inclusiveness, and a clear focus on development has brought renewed stability and direction to Ekiti State’s governance.
