Ekiti Speaker Receives BSES 2025 Father Christmas, Seeks Stronger Media Partnership

The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, on Tuesday received a delegation from the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES), who visited the Assembly complex to present the 2025 Father Christmas.
The visit brought a festive atmosphere as the BSES team, led by the General Manager, Mr. Olu Popoola, arrived with Father Christmas and his symbolic companion. Popoola said the courtesy call offered the station a chance to celebrate the Speaker and acknowledge his leadership style.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the Speaker, Mr. Babajide Agbeyo, the BSES General Manager assured that the station would maintain steady and balanced coverage of the legislature. He also expressed interest in expanding reportage to include constituency projects of lawmakers across all parts of the state.
Father Christmas, accompanied by his ‘wife’, presented gifts to the Speaker and prayed for a joyful Christmas season and a smooth legislative tenure. The team also commended Aribasoye for what they described as his openness, humility and readiness to collaborate with the media and the public.
Responding, Aribasoye thanked BSES for its support and its role in helping the Assembly communicate its work more clearly to the public. He said the 7th Assembly had made transparency a core priority, pointing to the live streaming of plenary sessions and other reforms.
The Speaker further announced that the Assembly would soon unveil a dedicated mobile application designed to give citizens easy access to legislative reports, documents and updates, making parliamentary activities more accessible.
Aribasoye also offered cash support to the visiting team and appealed for sustained synergy between the media and the Assembly, stressing that both institutions must work together to promote good governance and protect the interest of the people.
