The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has called on researchers and academics to generate policy-driven outcomes that will directly benefit governance and society.

Aribasoye, who was Special Guest of Honour at the opening of the 5th Biennial International Conference of the Centre for Research, Innovation and Development (CRID), Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, on Tuesday, said the state legislature is ready to adopt frameworks and documents that can strengthen lawmaking.

He noted that the 7th Assembly has taken major legislative steps on environmental protection, tackling pollution, and encouraging recycling, while stressing that innovative, research-driven systems are crucial for sustainable development.

“The Ekiti House of Assembly is committed to working with scholars to translate research into workable policies,” the Speaker said, as he pledged continued support for initiatives that link academia with governance.

Aribasoye also supported the event with a generous donation.
