Ekiti Poll: Oyebanji Campaign Committee Confident of Victory, Cites Strong Performance, Grassroots Support
he Biodun Oyebanji Campaign Committee has reaffirmed confidence in the governor’s chances of winning the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) primary and the 2026 Ekiti governorship election, citing his sterling performance and deep-rooted grassroots support across the state.
This was the outcome of a high-level strategic meeting of the committee held in Ado-Ekiti, where senior party leaders and campaign strategists reviewed ongoing mobilization efforts, stakeholder engagement, and public sentiment ahead of the October 25 delegate election and the October 27 affirmation exercise.
In a statement signed by Chief Alaba Bejide, Chairman of the Committee, the group described Governor Oyebanji as the “overwhelming favourite” due to his record of inclusive leadership and visible achievements across all sectors.
Bejide commended the dedication of local representatives across the 16 local government areas and 177 wards in the state for their effective grassroots mobilisation, which, he said, has been instrumental in projecting the administration’s achievements and consolidating the governor’s popularity.
According to him, the committee will soon commence the fourth phase of its sensitisation and mobilisation campaign across the nooks and crannies of the state, aimed at strengthening unity within the party and ensuring massive support for the governor’s candidature.
“From all indications, our campaign structure at the grassroots is solid, active, and well-coordinated. The feedback from our field operatives shows the overwhelming acceptance of Governor Oyebanji as the people’s choice,” Bejide said.
Also speaking, High Chief Jide Awe, a member of the Committee and party chieftain, described Oyebanji’s administration as a benchmark for progressive governance in Nigeria. He noted that the governor’s record in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and job creation speaks for itself.
“The achievements of Governor Oyebanji speak for themselves. From road construction and improved healthcare delivery to educational reforms and empowerment initiatives, he has demonstrated uncommon dedication and competence. He is a marketable brand associated with quality leadership and trust,” Awe stated.
He added that the robust grassroots mobilisation currently ongoing across the state underscores the unity within the APC and the enthusiasm of members, youth groups, and community leaders.
“We are confident that His Excellency, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, will continue his good work after emerging victorious. Ekiti people are united in one voice, ready to reaffirm their trust in a leader who has delivered on his promises,” he added.
Awe urged all stakeholders to maintain discipline, embrace peace, and uphold the Omoluabi ethos before, during, and after the 2026 governorship election.
