Ekiti Advancement Frontier Rolls Out Relief Programme for Elderly, Vulnerable Citizens

The Ekiti Advancement Frontier (EAF), a socio-developmental organization focused on community empowerment and welfare, has unveiled plans to distribute food items and relief materials to the elderly, less privileged, and other vulnerable groups across Ekiti State.

The initiative, according to the group’s Convener, Dr. Deji Oso Dejavu, is designed to complement President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s policy of inclusiveness and transparency.

Speaking at a media briefing in Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Oso said the programme aims to support the most affected citizens amid current economic realities, while reinforcing the government’s commitment to equitable social intervention.

“At Ekiti Advancement Frontier, we are inspired by the people-first approach of Governor Oyebanji’s administration and President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision,” Dr. Oso stated.

“This relief program is a practical step to support the elderly and vulnerable, ensuring that no one is left behind in Ekiti’s growth story.”

According to him, the distribution exercise will cover all 16 local government areas of the state, targeting aged men and women, widows, and low-income households. Items to be shared include essential foodstuffs and welfare packages aimed at cushioning the effects of inflation and economic hardship.

Community leaders have hailed the initiative as timely and impactful, describing it as a direct reinforcement of Governor Oyebanji’s inclusive governance style.

Observers also noted that the EAF’s gesture aligns with the administration’s broader drive for participatory governance and grassroots development.

As preparations heighten ahead of the 2026 governorship election, the organization’s intervention has been viewed as a show of solidarity with Governor Oyebanji’s vision for a peaceful, transparent, and people-centered Ekiti.

Dr. Oso reaffirmed EAF’s commitment to partnering with relevant government agencies and development stakeholders to promote sustainable welfare programmes across the state.

“Our goal is to strengthen the social safety net in Ekiti State and ensure that development reaches even the most remote communities,” he added.
