Ekiti Advancement Frontier Hails Oyebanji’s Integrity Driven Leadership

The Ekiti Advancement Frontier (EAF) has commended Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for what it described as an integrity driven leadership style that has lifted Ekiti State to the top of Nigeria’s fiscal transparency ranking.

The group said the state’s perfect 100 score in the BudgIT Foundation assessment is a clear testament to the governor’s commitment to transparency and accountability in governance.

Ekiti State emerged first among all Nigerian states in the 2024 Q4 and 2025 Q2 fiscal transparency index released by BudgIT Foundation. The ranking reflects full compliance with national standards, including disclosure of approved budgets, quarterly Budget Implementation Reports, audited financial statements, Accountant General’s reports and accessible e procurement and fiscal data on the state’s official portal.

EAF noted that Governor Oyebanji’s openness and responsible management of public funds have set a new benchmark for integrity in governance.

The group added that the administration’s zero borrowing policy for projects, combined with strict fiscal discipline, has protected the state from additional debt while boosting investor confidence.

The recently launched Ekiti Dashboard also received commendation. EAF said the platform has given citizens across all Local Government Areas the opportunity to monitor project allocations, procurement details and the progress of government projects in real time, describing it as a demonstration of people centred governance.

It further stated that the regular publication of budget records, audited statements and procurement documents has empowered citizens and civil society groups to track government spending, ensuring greater accountability in public service.

According to EAF, Governor Oyebanji’s integrity driven approach has strengthened public trust, improved internally generated revenue and ensured that development is evenly spread across the state.

The group said the administration has laid a strong foundation for sustainable growth, social cohesion and shared prosperity for all residents of Ekiti State.
