Aribasoye Reaffirms World-Class Vision as Ekiti Assembly Passes ₦398.3bn Supplementary Budget

The Ekiti State House of Assembly on Monday approved the 2025 Supplementary Budget of ₦398.3 billion, after a detailed consideration of the bill during the Committee on Supply chaired by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Babajide Agbeyo, the Speaker said the budget, as passed, allocates ₦175.4 billion for capital expenditure and ₦222.9 billion for recurrent expenditure.
Aribasoye also announced that the Assembly had received the list of commissioner-nominees forwarded by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, with screening scheduled to begin on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Speaker restated the commitment of the Ekiti State House of Assembly to building a legislative institution capable of matching any parliament across the world.
Speaking at the December edition of the Assembly’s monthly prayer session, Aribasoye urged staff to raise their performance levels in line with the ongoing digital transformation agenda aimed at driving global competitiveness.
“We must build a structure that will compete with any parliament in the world. That’s the vision, and we need people to operate that vision. Let’s begin to engage ourselves, task our brains and challenge the status quo,” he said.
He directed the Clerk to organise another round of ICT-focused training targeted at specific staff needs, encouraging innovation, creativity and improved institutional capacity.
