APC Disowns Hon. Lanre Fayemi, Clarifies Membership Status

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifaki Ward 2, Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State, has clarified that Hon. Lanre Fayemi is not a registered member of the party.
In a statement signed by the Ward Chairman, Hon. Sule Rasaki Owolafe (Oriii), the APC leadership advised the public to disregard any claims suggesting that Fayemi belongs to the party.
According to the ward executives, membership in the APC follows due process as enshrined in the party’s constitution, beginning at the ward level under the supervision of the Ward Chairman. They stressed that Mr. Fayemi has not undergone any of these processes.
The statement further recalled that Fayemi defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 2022 and has since not returned to the APC. It also alleged that during the last governorship election, Fayemi was linked to violent activities against APC members, which contradicts the party’s values of peace and democratic engagement.
“We urge the public, especially APC members across Ido/Osi and Ekiti State, to exercise caution when dealing with Mr. Fayemi. He does not represent our party and his transactional politics should be treated with caution,” the statement read.
Reaffirming their loyalty to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, the APC members in Ifaki Ward 2 said they remain committed to the governor’s “excellent and visionary leadership” and will continue to mobilize support for his administration.
The ward executives concluded by cautioning the public to be vigilant and not to fall victim to Fayemi’s political manoeuvres.
