The Executive Chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ambassador Prince Michael Ogungbemi, has commended delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across all 177 wards in Ekiti State for unanimously affirming Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as the party’s flagbearer for the June 2026 governorship election.
Amb. Ogungbemi, who participated in the consensus affirmation exercise, described the process as a true reflection of representative democracy and a demonstration of the unity and maturity within the Ekiti APC family.
He noted that the delegates’ decision to adopt Governor Oyebanji for a second term was a vote of confidence in his humble, transparent, and people-oriented leadership, which has positively transformed lives across the state.
“I witnessed firsthand the beauty of democracy at work, a system where the people speak through their chosen representatives. The process was inclusive, peaceful, and people-driven,” Ogungbemi said.
According to him, Governor Oyebanji’s achievements in infrastructure, human capital development, and institutional reform have strengthened citizens’ trust in government and repositioned Ekiti for greater growth.
He described the consensus as a collective endorsement of progress and good governance, adding that Ekiti people have resolved to sustain the tempo of development under Oyebanji’s leadership.
“This is not just a political endorsement; it is an expression of trust and appreciation for a leader who has kept faith with the people. Ekiti is united under one purpose — continuity and sustainable progress,” Ogungbemi added.
The council boss congratulated Governor Oyebanji on the overwhelming show of confidence, urging all party members and residents to continue to support the administration’s vision of shared prosperity.
