The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has intensified grassroots mobilisation for the re-election bid of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), leading a two-day ward-to-ward campaign across all 12 wards in Ikole Local Government Area.
The outreach, which formed part of the activities of the BAO Primary Election Campaign Committee in Ikole LGA, began on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, covering Wards 1–7 in Ikole Constituency 1, and continued on Thursday, October 9, with visits to Wards 8–12 in Ikole Constituency 2.
The tour recorded massive turnouts of APC leaders, local executives, stakeholders, and hundreds of party loyalists, who declared their full support for Governor Oyebanji as the APC’s leading governorship aspirant ahead of the October 27, 2025, governorship primary election.
‘BAO Is Our Choice, No Rival’ — Aribasoye
Addressing party members at each ward, Speaker Aribasoye called for total loyalty and steadfast solidarity for Governor Oyebanji, whom he described as the only credible, accessible, and widely accepted aspirant capable of sustaining the gains of good governance in Ekiti.
“This is not just a campaign; it is a mission to protect the soul of our great party,” Aribasoye said. “BAO is our choice — the people’s choice and the mandate of the progressives must be safeguarded through undivided loyalty.”
At every stop, the atmosphere was charged with chants of “BAO! Our choice! BAO!! No rival!” as supporters reaffirmed their confidence in the governor’s leadership and performance.
Massive Grassroots Turnout Across Constituencies
The campaign committee said the two-day mobilisation rekindled unity among party members and demonstrated the governor’s growing popularity at the grassroots.
It also noted that the visits helped strengthen coordination among ward executives and stakeholders, ensuring that all structures within Ikole LGA were fully aligned ahead of the APC primaries.
“The overwhelming turnout in every ward confirms that Ikole is solidly behind Governor Oyebanji,” a member of the campaign committee said. “Our mission is clear — total victory at the primaries and beyond.”
Ikole APC Committee Pledges Total Victory
With the completion of the ward-to-ward tour, the Ikole LGA BAO Campaign Committee reaffirmed its commitment to driving a united and issue-based campaign.
The group pledged to continue mobilising support until the October 27 APC primary, promising to deliver a resounding victory for Governor Oyebanji as the consensus candidate of the people.
“Our strength lies in unity and loyalty,” Aribasoye said. “The people of Ikole have spoken with one voice, and that voice is for BAO.”
