A fresh delay has hit the ongoing 2025 recruitment exercise for agencies under the Ministry of Interior, as the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has postponed the opening of its online portal for shortlisted candidates expected to begin physical screening this week.

The portal, which was initially scheduled to open from Monday, December 1 to Wednesday, December 3, will now go live at a later date. The announcement was made late Monday in a statement signed by the Board Secretary, Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) A.M. Jibril, and posted on X.

Although the Board did not give a new timeline, it assured applicants that an updated schedule would be released soon. Shortlisted candidates were advised to keep checking the official portal, recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, for fresh directives.

According to the statement, the Board regrets the inconvenience caused by the postponement and appreciates the patience of applicants who have been following the recruitment stages from the computer-based test phase concluded last month.

The physical verification phase is one of the most critical parts of the exercise, as it involves confirming applicants’ documents, identities and physical fitness before moving them to the final selection stage.

The recruitment process covers four major agencies under the Ministry of Interior — the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Nigeria Correctional Service, the Federal Fire Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
