Ekiti 2026: Continuity of Good Governance Catalyst for Development, Prosperity — OSV

By Ojo Ayodeji
The Oyebanji Street Vanguard (OSV), a prominent grassroots political movement in Ekiti State, has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the continuity of good governance exemplified by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration, describing it as the only path to sustained development and prosperity in the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti, the Convener of the group, HC Ade, urged citizens and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rally behind Governor Oyebanji in the forthcoming 2026 governorship election, stressing that his performance and leadership record make him the most qualified candidate to drive Ekiti to greater heights.
“Governor Oyebanji has delivered beyond expectations. From infrastructure projects to grassroots development, he has shown what visionary and committed leadership looks like. ‘BAO till 2030’ stands for continuity, progress, development, and prosperity in Ekiti,” the statement read.
Reacting to the recent approval of the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for commercial flight operations, OSV described the milestone as a major economic breakthrough under the Oyebanji administration.
“This is a landmark achievement for Ekiti people. The Cargo Airport is not just a project; it is a gateway to new opportunities in commerce, agriculture, logistics, and tourism. It will create jobs, open up markets, and place Ekiti on the national and global map. Only a government with foresight and sincerity can deliver such a milestone,” the group stated.
OSV maintained that such achievements highlight the importance of leadership continuity, arguing that no other aspirant or political group can match Governor Oyebanji’s credibility, stability, and development-driven governance.
The group also cautioned party members to ignore rumours and misinformation allegedly being circulated by “some desperate aspirants and their media teams” in an attempt to create divisions within the APC in Ekiti State.
“Propaganda, innuendos, and falsehood are the last weapons of weak politicians. It is evident that the APC leadership, from the ward level to the national headquarters in Abuja, is fully aligned with BAO’s continuity agenda,” the statement added.
While urging members of the ruling party to remain united and loyal, the group commended Governor Oyebanji for his inclusive leadership style and cordial relationship with stakeholders across all levels.
“BAO is not only a performing governor but also a true party man. He has stood by every member, from the grassroots to the top, with humility and commitment. He is the only Omo Ologo capable of taking Ekiti and our great party to greater heights,” OSV declared.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to sustained grassroots mobilization across the 16 local government areas of the state, promising to work tirelessly toward securing an overwhelming victory for Oyebanji in the 2026 elections and beyond.
“As the 2026 political calendar draws near, the reality and necessity of continuity of good governance anchored on political stability remain the clear path to economic growth and sustainable development for Ekiti,” the statement concluded.
