By Lukman Babatope

With less than a month to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Ekiti State, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has embarked on a ward-to-ward sensitization and mobilization tour in Ikole Local Government Area to rally support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s (BAO) second-term bid.

In a statement signed by Babajide Agbeyo, Special Adviser on Media to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye, who also chairs the APC Primary Election Committee for Ikole LG, began the tour on Tuesday alongside his team, emphasizing the need for party members to safeguard their political bases ahead of the October 27 contest.

The team’s first stop was Ijesu-Isu Ward 7, where the Chairman of Kajola LCDA, Mr. Ojo Adebayo, led ward members in welcoming the Speaker and his entourage. The visit later extended to Ikole Wards 1, 2, and 3, where stakeholders pledged to keep their camps “fortified” against opposition, stressing that Oyebanji remained the best choice for continuity and development.

The mobilization committee comprising Hon. Idowu Akinlabi (Secretary) and Prince Michael Ogungbemi (Treasurer) was received with enthusiasm at every ward visited, as party members lauded Oyebanji’s achievements and vowed to back him at the primaries.

At Wards 4, 5 and 6, residents turned out in large numbers with songs and dances, openly declaring their loyalty to the governor’s reelection project.

Also in attendance were APC State Legal Adviser, Barr. Adewale Adeyeye, LG and LCDA Chairmen, ward executives, and party leaders, who one after another expressed confidence in Oyebanji’s chances.

Addressing members, Aribasoye charged them to “keep their territories intact” for BAO, noting that unity and vigilance would be key to securing victory. He further inaugurated ward-based mobilization teams with the mandate to drive grassroots support for the governor.
